If you are shopping for home care SEO, the quotes you get back will probably look wildly different. One agency says $500 a month. Another says $5,000. Both call it "SEO." Here is how to read those numbers and decide what is fair for your agency.
What home care SEO pricing usually looks like
Most agencies price SEO as a monthly retainer, often with a one-time setup fee for the audit and technical cleanup. For home care agencies, retainers generally fall into three bands:
- Entry-level programs focus on a single location and the basics: Google Business Profile, core service pages, citations, and monthly reporting.
- Growth programs add steady content, link building, review generation, and conversion work. This is where most established single-location agencies should be looking.
- Multi-location programs run separate local strategies for each market and require more content, more listings, and more reporting.
Our own tiers are published on the pricing page, so you can compare them with any other quote you receive.
What changes the price
How competitive your market is
Ranking for "home care" in a small town is a different job from ranking in a large metro with dozens of agencies, directories, and franchise sites all competing. More competition means more content and more authority to build before you pass the competition.
The number of locations and service areas
Every location needs its own Google Business Profile, its own local pages, and its own reviews. Two locations are not twice the work of one, but they are close.
The state of your current website
A site that is slow, thin, or built on a template with duplicate pages needs repair work before new content can help. That is usually where the setup fee goes.
How much content you need
Service pages, city pages, condition-specific pages, and helpful guides are what Google has to work with. More pages that families actually want means more chances to rank.
What should be included at any price
- A written audit of your site, Google Business Profile, and local listings
- Google Business Profile optimization and ongoing management
- Service and location pages written for the people searching, not just for a bot
- Call tracking or form tracking, so you can see which searches turn into inquiries
- A monthly report in plain English that you can read in five minutes
Warning signs in a quote
- Guaranteed rankings. Nobody controls Google. Promises of guaranteed number-one positions are a red flag.
- No named deliverables. "We will optimize your site" is not a deliverable. "Two new service pages and eight reviews requested per month" is.
- You do not own the work. Make sure you keep your website, your Google Business Profile, your analytics, and your content if you leave.
- Generic work for every industry. Home care searches are emotional and urgent. An agency that has never worked with care providers tends to write cold, template content.
A simple way to judge ROI
Work backwards from your own numbers. If a typical client is worth thousands of dollars in billed hours over the length of care, then even a handful of extra clients a year from search can cover the cost of a solid program. The point is not to pick the cheapest option. It is to pick a plan where the monthly spend is clearly smaller than the value of the clients you realistically expect to win.
